June 13th, 2006: Bighorn ewe

June 1, 2006: Cassin's Finch...what a great singer!

May 20th, 2006: the "Eagle's Nest" osprey

The following pictures were taken May 14, 2005

(After a tip from realtor friend Ken Deshaies at Snowhome Properties, we
drove a short distance and there they were, right where he said the den was!)

May 14th: "Is it okay to come out now?"

The lookout.

Getting the food from mom is only half the battle...

Vixen and kit.

Aren't I cute?

Enjoying the sunshine, but watchful.

Home delivery. Looks like mom could use a few good meals herself.

Such beautiful, wild eyes!

A fashion queen in the making?

Other people familiar with the den said there's a black adult fox in the area. Daddy??

Posing again.

These two were taken on May 19th:

The "Eagle's Nest" osprey, coming in for a landing.

And a few from earlier years and cameras....

In the Blue River, right down in town!

A pine marten...relative to the mink and weasel. This one was raiding the grease can under the grill on our deck. This
is the only one of these creatures we've seen here. Amazing climbers...squirrels beware!

This bear ran right in front of my car as I returned home mid-afternoon from an errand. I ran into the house, grabbed
my camera, and went out on the back deck in time to catch as he walked between our building and the condo complex
just downhill.

A bull elk in rut, Rocky Mountain National Park. Everybody should see this ritual at least once in their life!

Bighorn, near Georgetown.
