About this site...

I maintain this site because I want to share the beauty of the mountains with less fortunate folk who live elsewhere. When it stops being fun, it stops. I moved the site to its present host to gain more space and put back some of the pages I had to archive due to lack of space (for example, the Mt. Evans and Moab pages). The site has grown enormously since I began it in 1998, and I have received many nice comments from as far away as New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Thank you all for visiting!

I try to make at least some kind of update to at least one page every day. Usually the updated page is the "Somewhat Daily News". But occasionally there is just nothing new or outstanding to report or photograph. So it doesn't get updated. And of course, if I'm away or taking a vacation from the site, nothing gets updated. I know I risk losing "regulars" when I do this, but sometimes it's just necessary. Deal with it! <grin>

This site was created and is maintained via Macromedia's Dreamweaver. I used to use Front Page, but found it very annoying in that it tried to do too much for me, resulting in a myriad of screwball files whose purposes were a mystery. I now own the Macromedia MX studio.

Some of the simpler Flash movies are done with Coffeecup Software's Firestarter. This company does some great little pieces of software, others of which I use on other sites I maintain. Check them out:
