Some serious cliffs, near Summit Lake

A partially-thawed Summit Lake, with Mt. Evans in the background

A HUGE cornice, top center. Summit Lake.

Bighorn ewes, and a mountain goat.

Watchin' the tourists.

Wave after wave of mountains! Mt. Bierstadt, another fourteener,
closest at left of center.
Sharp eyes can sometimes pick out hikers at its summit from the Mt. Evans summit.

Grazing the tundra

A roadside marmot

Pikes' Peak in the distance

A partially-thawed Abyss Lake, far below. Gray's and Torrey's Peaks, like twins, far right. The opposite sides of these peaks look down into Summit County and "home". Gray's and Torrey's are also fourteeners, and the only fourteeners on the Continental Divide.

Mount Evans, with the observatory, top.
And a couple taken in early August....

(This one was with extreme telephoto including digital zoom,
hence
the degradation in quality.)

Looking into the "Summit Lake" abyss from the summit. Nothing but
